Paul Lucas is a IBM Distinguished Engineer and CTO for the Financial Services Sector in the UK. With personal focus areas on Payments, Open Banking and large scale systems integration, he has over 25 years experience in systems integration, application architecture, and software design and development. In recent years he has had a particular focus on core banking and payments systems transformation, and in developing the new capabilities required to support the disruption and opportunities created by Open Banking, and the industry's move to Cloud.

Paul has shaped and led the architecture and delivery of transformation and complex systems integration programmes for some of the largest commercial and retail banks, from strategy through to implementation. He has also led the technical recovery for high profile troubled deliveries.
